LIQUID
Add in varying doses as needed, taking care not to exceed the legal limits for sulfur dioxide content.
Reg. (EU) 2019/934 specifies the following limits, expressed as total SO2:
STILL WINE
(a) 150 mg/L for red wines
(b) 200 mg/L for red wines with residual sugar content (glucose + fructose) ≥ 5 g/L
(c) 200 mg/L for white and rosé wines
(d) 250 mg/L for white and rosé wines with residual sugar content ≥ 5 g/L
(e) 250 mg/L or more for certain categories of sweet wines (Annexes IB)
SPARKLING WINES
(a) 200 mg/L quality sparkling wines and VSQPRDs
(b) 235 mg/L for other sparkling wines
For LIQUEUR WINES
(a) 150 mg/L if the sugar content is < 5 g/L
(b) 200 mg/L if the sugar content is ≥ 5 g/L
10 mL/hL of ALEASOL 15 provides 15 mg/L of SO2
Appearance: pale yellow clear solution with a slight odor of sulfur dioxide.
ALEASOL 15 is a liquid sulfiting agent containing potassium bisulfite.
Pure aqueous solution of 15% P/V potassium bisulfite in SO2.
ALEASOL 15 is suitable for final additions of sulfur dioxide to wine, particularly in the case of automatic in-line dosing before bottling.
