LIQUIDO
Silica sol in concentrated colloidal solution.
Appearance: white-grey opalescent solution, odourless.
ALEASIL K contains homogeneous negatively charged silicon dioxide particles with a very high surface area. Its characteristics allow it to obtain rapid and effective results in the clarification of wines.
Used in combination with a powdered gelatin or with ALEAGEL 50, ALEASIL K It gives excellent clarity even to musts and wines rich in mucilaginous colloids, obtaining reduced deposit volumes, better filterability and a lower content of oxidizable polyphenolic substances. ALEASIL K eliminates the phenomenon of overgluing because it induces the precipitation of the gelatin used in excess.
It is particularly suitable for the flotation of white musts, where clarification must be fast and complete; it is also effective in the treatment of sweet filtrates. ALEASIL K It is also used in the treatment of fruit juices, in combination with powdered gelatin.
40-100 g/hl on white must.
25- 75 g/hl on sweet wines and filtered wines.
Since it is always used in combination with gelatine, it is advisable to establish the doses and ratios of use through preliminary clarification tests in the laboratory. Generally, one part of gelatine and 10-15 parts of silica sol are used.
To disperse ALEASIL K directly into the mass to be treated in a homogeneous manner. ALEASIL K must be added before the gelatine. If other clarifying products are used (carbon, bentonite, etc.), these must be added before ALEASIL K, for a time sufficient for their action. The clarifying treatment with ALEASIL K should preferably be carried out at temperatures not lower than 12ºC.
