Aleagel ALG
LIQUIDO
Vegetable gel based on potassium alginate obtained from algae, tartaric acid, SO2 0,3%.
Appearance: clear or slightly opalescent gelatinous liquid with typical odor.
ALEAGEL ALG it is a clarifying agent with a weak positive electrostatic charge at the typical pH of wine, with a mild clarifying effect, but very active in the removal of odorous compounds that interfere with the full varietal aromatic expression.
ALEAGEL ALG it is useful as a mild clarifying agent with a great effect on the aromatic level in the reduction of interfering aromas with consequent improvement of the varietal and fermentative aromatic component, particularly on white and sparkling wines.
ALEAGEL ALG It is particularly effective for the removal of excessive vegetal characteristics in both white and red wines. It can therefore be used in the treatment of wines that have herbaceous, vegetal, green leaf, hay, etc. hints, whether these are due to the poor ripeness of the grapes or to accidental causes (poorly performed mechanical harvesting, excessive maceration, prolonged maturation on the lees).
In some cases, the use of ALEAGEL ALG It can be complementary to that of specific products for the removal of volatile phenols (Adsorbenol) in the reduction of the brett character at the organoleptic level.
It is always advisable to carry out dosage tests in the laboratory.
10 – 40 g/hL for aromatic clarification
20 – 60 g/hL for the clarification of wines at the end of wood aging
30 – 100 g/hL for the removal of plant excesses
50 – 150 g/hL for the removal of off-flavours of microbiological origin
Disperse in wine in a 1:10 ratio and add to the mass during a long pumping over.
ALEAGEL ALG acts within 1-3 days, and settles on the bottom forming a not very compact gelatinous sediment. Separate by decanting or filtering after 5-10 days. Longer contact times are not recommended.
Do not add to the wine at the same time as other clarifying agents. It is preferable to first carry out the classic clarification if necessary and then add ALEAGEL ALG. È However, it is possible to carry out a subsequent clarification with bentonite only.
